The Romaria Pilgrimage occurs each year on the 7th September. The pilgrimage, which attracts pilgrims from the whole of Spain and beyond,  takes the form of a 18Km walk in the evening to the picturesque Saliente Monastery.

It commemorates the apparation of a Marian at the end of the 17th century. There is evidence of pilgramages back to 1727. Nowadays with many young people attending the event, the religious significance is somewhat taken over by a partying atmosphere with many firecrackers being set off along the way.
